Enjoying the cool weather at Genting Highlands

During the recent 2-week school holiday earlier this month, I had been very busy with work and had no time to take the kids anywhere. They spent one week at the babysitter's house and another week at my mum's house. So, on the last Friday, I decided to take leave to bring the kids out somewhere.
Daddy said he was busy and unable to take leave so I thought I'll bring the kids to KL. I made plans to bring them to the museum, Petrosains and the KLCC park. We woke up early that morning and told Daddy that we'll be going out soon. Then only did he say that he needs to go up to Genting Highlands for work as his company will be opening a new store at Genting Premium Outlet. So, he asked us to go up with him for a night there.

As he still had some work to do, we had to wait for him till 1.30 pm before we went for lunch. At 2.15 pm, we started our drive up.

As soon as we reached Awana Hotel at 3.00 pm, the kids saw the swimming pool and was excited to go for a swim (as if we did not have a swimming pool in our condo and they had not swam for a long time). Anyway, since Daddy had to work, I brought the kids to the pool where they immediately jumped in.

At 6.30 pm, Daddy was back and brought us out for dinner.

Simple meal with chicken wine soup. Love the soup... so yummy...

After dinner, we drove up to Genting Sky Avenue. The mall was really big and modern, a big difference from the old Genting Theme Park that we were used to.

This was the kids' favourite - they loved the Churros Fries.

Time for some ice-cream at Inside Scoop...

I have no idea what is he doing....

We took a walk to the old wing where First World Hotel was. The theme park and the old mall was closed for renovations.

Back at the hotel, Isabel could not resist striking a pose before going back to the room.

The next day, we woke up to a wonderful morning. It was bright yet foggy.

Trying to get everyone out for breakfast...

The complimentary breakfast was just so-so. I was enjoying the weather more than the food.

A lovely father-daughter moment... always Daddy's little Princess.

Earlier the night before, we saw a poster in the lift, advertising for archery at the hotel's activity centre so we thought we'll drop by for a game.

Having a game or ring toss first...

There was also abseiling which Isabel was keen to try out. Cost us RM25!

Father-son archery session. Cost another RM35 for 50 arrows.

Looks like Daddy needs to train Ethan to aim better...

Trying their hand at the very old and worn-out snooker table... At least it's free...

Overall, the whole place looks really old and worn-out. Well, the kids didn't seem to mind one bit about the condition...

Yay, finally it's time to take the cable car!

There was a long queue but it moved really quickly.

Checking to make sure we have all the tickets.

Looks like clear weather but after less than a minute into the ride, it was really foggy.

Couldn't even see anything outside.

Even up at Genting Skyway, it was very foggy but it was lovely.

View of the mall from the top.

There were so many restaurants at Genting Skyway and I wanted to try something different but the kids insisted on Dome.

Taking a walk after the hearty lunch.

We chanced upon the Malaysian Food Street on our way back to the cable car. Should have eaten here instead of Dome.... maybe next time.

On the way back down, the fog has cleared and we had a great view of things below.

And that was our short trip to Genting. Just a simple one-night trip but I love spending the time with my family!
